TACKLING TICKS TOGETHER!

CALLING ALL WALKERS, DOG WALKERS AND WALKING GROUPS

HELP US TACKLE TICK-BORNE DISEASE BY DOING WHAT YOU (AND YOUR PET) LOVE BEST

Every year in the UK, more and more people and pets suffer complications from tick bites, such as Lyme disease (Borreliosis). Lyme disease can damage the nervous system, the heart and other organs, and there is no vaccination.

Yet, with a few simple precautions, much of this could be avoided altogether. The great outdoors is to be enjoyed and 'Tick Awareness' will help both people and their pets to get out there safely.

BADA-UK (Borreliosis & Associated Diseases Awareness UK) is a unique charity founded by people affected by Lyme disease. We care because we've been there! We're the only UK organisation dedicated to promoting tick-borne disease prevention in both humans and animals.

We receive no official funding and that's why we need your help. By getting involved in our sponsored Walk 'n' Wagathon and getting out into our fabulous outdoors (with or without a dog), you will help to raise vital funds for our education activities and raise awareness of tick-borne disease.

We are launching the 'Walk 'n' Wagathon' to mark our Tick Bite Prevention Week campaign (24-30 March 2013) but you are welcome to hold a sponsored event when ever suits you. For each walk that takes place, more people will become 'Tick Aware'.

It's really simple to join in. Just visit www.tickbitepreventionweek.org for information on how to register your event as a Walk 'n' Wagathon Justgiving page, then download and print your event logo to pin to your clothing, and you are ready to get walking and wagging!

Visit Andrew's Justgiving page to find out what he and his four-legged friends will be doing for the Walk 'n' Wagathon.

It doesn't matter how big or small your event, whether you make it a family fun day out, a local walking group event or you go it alone (with or without a dog), it's your taking part that matters. And we'd love to share your event news and pictures on our Facebook page. So let's get tackling ticks together!
